# Welcome to Selly

> Selly is an all-in-one reseller management platform — track inventory, monitor performance, manage expenses, and share your store with buyers.

## What is Selly?

Selly is built for resellers who want a complete picture of their business in one place. Whether you're flipping sneakers, streetwear, electronics, or collectibles, Selly gives you the tools to stay organized, track every dollar, and grow profitably.

Instead of juggling spreadsheets, notes apps, and mental math, Selly centralizes everything — your inventory, your sales, your expenses, and your storefront — in one clean dashboard.

## How Selly Works

Selly is organized around the natural flow of a resale business:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add inventory">
    When you acquire items, log them in Inventory with the cost you paid, the sizes you have, and the quantity per size. Every unit starts as **Unlisted**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="List items">
    When an item goes up for sale on a marketplace, update its status to **Listed** and enter your asking price. It now appears on your Storefront automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record sales">
    When an item sells, log it from the Dashboard with the sale price, platform, and date. The unit is automatically marked as **Sold**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Track expenses">
    Log overhead costs on the Expenses page — shipping supplies, marketplace fees, storage, tools, and anything else that cuts into profit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review your numbers">
    Use the Performance page to analyze revenue, profit, and margins. Use the Dashboard for a real-time snapshot.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share your store">
    Send buyers your Storefront link so they can browse your available inventory with live pricing.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Understanding Profit in Selly

Selly tracks two types of costs so your profit numbers are accurate:

| Type | What it is | Where it lives |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------- | ---------------------------- |
| **Cost of goods** | What you paid for each individual item | Inventory — entered per unit |
| **Expenses** | Overhead not tied to a specific item | Expenses page |

* **Gross profit** = Revenue minus cost of goods sold
* **Net profit** = Gross profit minus expenses

<Tip>
  Always log both your item costs and your expenses for the most accurate profit number.
</Tip>

## Date Filtering

Every page in Selly has a date range picker in the top right. All metrics and tables respond to it instantly.

| Preset           | What it covers                           |
| ---------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **YTD**          | January 1 through today                  |
| **MTD** | First of the current month through today |
| **Last 30 days** | Rolling 30-day window                    |
| **Custom** | Any start and end date you pick |
